The Fall 2021 Migration Count has commenced and runs from Sep 20th until Nov 15th with observers at the Mount Lorette site daily — including viewing equipment available to the public. If interested in visiting the site, we suggest that you visit after 3pm. We see the majority of the migrating eagles in the later afternoon. This is the 29th consecutive year of vigilant recording. Description of the Day:

Overcast and calm morning with windy afternoon and slow clearing. Strong ridge winds, mainly on the west side of the valley. There was no migration of Golden Eagles today. Two Bald Eagles only were flying south direction low on the east side of the valley.

Period with Most Migrants:

Between 11-12:00 hrs and 12-13:00 hrs with 1 Bald Eagle each hour.

1 adult Bald Eagle

Other Birds:

Canada Goose - 63, American Three-toed Woodpecker - 1, Common Redpoll - 10.

Other Observations:

White-tailed Deer - 2, Elk - 2.
