Since the fall of 2009, there has been a reconnaissance count at or near the Steeples Ridge which is located on the east side of the Kootenay Valley (Rocky Mountain Trench) 25 km NE of Cranbrook, B.C.

Description of the Day:

Generally a nice day, a bit windy at times but not bad. 70% to 100% cloud, but for most of the day the sun shone through.

Migrant Golden Eagle Count:

17 (9 adults, 2 juveniles, 6 unaged)

Migrant Other Raptor Count By Species:

Sharp-shinned Hawks 5, Peregrine Falcon 1

Period with Most Migrants:

18:00-19:00 with eleven Golden Eagles
